UK PM Boris Johnson Resignation and The Nigerian Angle

Boris Johnson Overt Blogs

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has "performed" so poorly that there has been barrage of request for resignations from his cabinet within the last week.

I know they operate parliamentary system which is quite different from ours but hello, shouldn't Nigeria leaders or appointees learn a thing or two from this style of democracy. If you know your so-called principal or leader values clashes with yours, shouldn't common sense suggest you get off before the ship sinks.

Do you really need to place PARTY LOYALTY and MONEY above everything? (I'm assuming they have at least a grain of integrity and self-esteem intact.

Some of us rated Osinbajo so highly, infact he was the only soft spot I have in the whole of the Buhari administration. Just get off and save what's left of your integrity, you have a flourishing career aside politics, Go back, readjust and plan, People will see that you stood up for something rather than fall for everything.

I read on BBC NEWS five reasons that led to the downfall of Boris Johnson, You can read here and I have been thinking if those same reasons can unseat a Local Government Chairman in Nigeria talk more of the all powerful Nigeria President. They itemised them as follows

  1. The Chris Pincher Affair
  2. The PartyGate ( Flouting COVID 19 rules and dancing)
  3. Cost of Living (Inflation) and Tax Rise
  4. Owen Paterson Row
  5. Lack of Focus and Ideas
I bet you if we go by those aforementioned reasons, Buhari and his entire cabinet would have vacated the seat a month after being sworn in in 2015 (Who am I kidding, there was no cabinet in the first one month of the administration.
