Buhari And The Reality Of The Times

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Buhari has not really been doing what is expected of him as a President. He cannot tell us  that he is not aware of the responsibilities that lies ahead using the straw of "virtually empty treasury'
late handing over of government notes and age will not persuade Nigerians much including myself.

The imbroglio playing out at the National Assembly seems to suggest that APC have never been ready for the top position from the get-go, probably they being in the opposition would have helped their case better. But the irony of the situation seems to suggest that APC have beforehand ironed out the modalities of leadership through the overchanted change slogan of the campaign period.

Nigerian were held spellbound by the well-structured media propaganda of the day which seems to suggest and pin-point the faults of the GEJ administration, while i am not going to support the crass mistakes of the previous administration, i am still tempted to say that government was not as bad as the opposition of then made us believe.

The ball is now in the court of the ruling party to deliver on their promises and allay the developing fears towards the administration and its ruling tactics from a vast majority of Nigerians. The days are running and still no proper administrative structure in place is not a good way to show a serious government. The President have been on some travelling soiree for some time, while we are yet to see the tangible benefits of such trips, we still keeping our fingers crossed for better "changed days.

I might come accross to some readers as a pained and bias fellow, Yes i am , I am pained as a Nigerian citizen who wants our country to be better, who want a better life for all asundry, who wants the gap between the rich and poor to bridged by a fledging middle class , Yes I am pained. We are not where we are expected to be as a nation and every patriotic Nigerian need to feel the same no matter the level of the supposed comfort you seem to have. We have had it bad enough already and having to contend with the fact that we still have the same recycled set of politicians play on our intelligence everytime is painful to say the least

Our leaders needed to be call to order and we need also as citizens to be asking pertinent and right questions no matter whose ox is gored in the matter. I am still optimistic that Buhari will rise up to the occasion and deliver on "some" of his campaign promises because truth be told most of his promises are not realisable considering the harsh economic reality staring at us on the face and they were majorly products of wishful thinking and rhetorics.

Buhari should as a matter of urgency gets his acts together and take us to the promise land , I am so tired of the current Egypt.
